Possible officers tunic with Sergent rank tabs. If it's taylor made and there's a slit on the left side (for a sword hanger) that can be buttoned closed and an embroidered name I would tend to think it's original.

These pics don't show enough to come to a conclusion on this item.

Not a lot more information in the latest pics but it's looking a little better. The stitched in name looks right for an officer's tunic and I see loops for a ribbon bar over the left breast.

I'd still like to see a (single) button up slit on the left side to be sure. The problem is Japanese civil clothing during the war followed military styles, I've seen dealers passing off civilian clothing with Army collar tab. Because the tabs here are for a sergent they have nothing to do with the tunic and are not a good sign.

Officer's clothing was always taylor made as they had to buy their own kit. The sword belt was worn under the tunic with the hanger exposed where the slit is located (or the slit was buttoned closed when no sword was worn). Civilian style jackets had no provision for wearing a sword so that slit is a big tell.

Hope that gives you something to go on.

I agree with Rod that it looks original. Officer tunics are more common than finding issued, named enlisted tunics with period applied insignias
