Your sword's tang-back might have a number on it:

I'd love to know that too...mine is a higher number Koa Isshin but was made earlier than yours (1941)?? So sequential, they are not. Possibly the numbering system was re-set each year? Production, I read somewhere, was approx 400 a month.

Mine was Spring 1941 with number 10 184. I heard someone speculating that they might have been batch or contract numbers, but I would love to find out, too!
