Ha Ha Ha! I think Dan might be joking about it, or at least I hope he is.

        Hi Tom
I don't know if he is or not, it's been a long time since I've really talked to him. I shouldn't laugh at his story though in retrospect, I shared with him a creepy Japanese helmet story once.
He does (or did) have one of the most outstanding collections of Japanese helmets and headgear I'd ever seen. From time to time he has some very nice (but expensive) helmets for sale on ebay.

This remembers me to an e-bay object: "Ghost-cane" Bidding ended at $65000

          Cheers,

The subject helmet went for a lot more than I thought it would. (Thanks for forwarding me the auction Jareth.) I guess that there are some haunted helmet collectors out there.

All my helmets are now haunted & worth much more! Obviously someone bought the story not the helmet.

I have funny feeling the seller was the high bidder. I also have a feeling that the second highest bidder was the seller. If you check the mutual feedback between them you will find similar adjectives. Also the high bidder has only bid on WWII US items, most for around $10-$15 and the highest for $65. Why suddenly a $740 jap helmet.
