    Machine Gun Spanners??

Can anyone be good enough to translate the Kanji on both spanners. I was told that one of them was a gas port spanner.

    Many thanks,
    Cheers,
    Robert

      Hi there! First photo:

I don't know the japanese technical language, it seems that "瓦斯喞筒" - "gas pump".

Have done a wee bit more research on the spanners.

          Both are for machine guns.

The first one is a spanner "for scope mount nut" 眼鏡托架装着螺用

and the second one is a spanner "for gas port regulator nut" 瓦斯喞筒規整螺用

Any insight into which machine gun and/or which scope they are talking about?

The Type 96 and Type 99 scopes I have do not have any surface that a spanner could/would fit?

My Type 92 smaller 4X scope does not have such a feature? My tall periscope Nikko 5X does not have it either?

Am I missing something on these scopes or is there another mg scope that I am not taking into consideration?

Or is this NOT actually a mg wrench but is used on another type of platform like a high caliber or ??

              Hi beretta1934,

Finding out any information on items such as these spanners is always a real challenge.

Many thanks for your observations. It is obviously then that it is for something a lot bigger.

I am sort of hoping that I or someone else might chance across them is some IJA manual.

              Cheers,
              Robert
