Okay guys, bought an estate of an old time collector this weekend at Tulsa Oklahoma show. Got an extremely nice gunto with leather cover and officers tassle, very nice blade with unusually long kissaki for a Showa stamped blade. Popped the hilt off and someone in the past has taken off the swordsmiths information, but left the Showa stamp. Now Ive heard of the stamp being removed of course,,but what would the purpose be of doing the opposite? It just makes your head hurt!
