IJA "Last Ditch" Cap, Early Fake . . . or what?

I know this is a period civil or para-military cap but the IJA star machine sewn and the stitches don't go all the way through. This would be difficult to do on one of these post manufacturing. Opinions welcome! Thank you!

Either someone opened up this hat to put on the IJA star, which would be very difficult due to the flimsy material, or it was put on at mfr.

Civilian labels . . . Funny thing is, I've seen these w/o insignia at SOS being sold as originals. Thanks for your opinions!

In my opinion I wouldn't buy it for any price. If you insist between $50.-75. as it's got chinstrap problems. Not certain if it's cracked but at the least its missing the buckles etc
