    Japanese aircraft Identification

Hello all,A friend sent me this photo of his Grandfather on top of a wrecked Japanese
aircraft. Can anyone identify the type of aircraft from the wreckage? I suspect most photos were of "Shot down Zeros" but in reality, not the case. Any help appreciated.
if it is indeed a Zero I can let him know. Thanks,Geoff

The shape of the tail, the size of the fuselage, the configuration of the landing gear suggests to me it's a Ki-84 "Frank".

Oh, and the aircraft number painted near the bottom of the rudder is pretty typical of the Ki-84.
