Lanyard info

Gentlemen,
Does anyone know where I can find reference material on pistol lanyards? I picked one up at a flea market for my type 14 and have been looking all over the Web with mixed results and conflicting info.
Any Web sites that have photo galleries? Or is there a book that is best?

You might want to check over at Gunboards in the Japanese firearms sub forum. There are a couple of pistol/accessory collectors who have posted pictures of their lanyards in the past and might be able to help out in general.

Anyway - picked it up cheap, so will be OK as a place holder.

Quick question - were they all made out of Cotton? Or did they use other materials?
