Original Japnese General Uniform? NEED HELP!!

hi, currently im in talks for buying this uniform jacket, hat and binoculars which are named to a general Toshizō Nishio, however as im new to this area i need help, are these indeed original? any help is great!

Very cheap and far from the quality I expect to see in a general's uniform.

I'd be very weary of this bloke. Knows less than nothing about Japanese uniforms. A few of the more learned collectors pointed out a lot of things that didn't sit right with them about the uniform and associated items on facebook, but he wouldn't hear any of it.

I would be surprised that the name was not embroidered. Also I might be wrong, but I do not like the penmanship in the hat. Is that an officer's hat?

Of course, the most interesting thing is that the general didn't know how to write his own name as he wrote Onishi instead of Nishio. This is typically what happens when you give a Japanese student $10 to write a name out of history books, he will write in post war fashion.

On a side note, it would be interesting to know what is written in the tunic's sleeve. A very strange place to put a name I think.

Photo 2.: On the collar ,it looks like small holes from other rank tabs. Its the same on both sides .

I am not sure about those stars on the rank tab... should they all be aligned in the center and be nicely lined up?

I to would expect the name to be embroidered in the tunic. Easy to cut out old name, make a new ID with a pen mark then to embroider the new name.

just an update on this purchase from hell, the knowledge it was a fake came 5 minutes after paying, currently im fighting bitterly with the seller for a refund who is refusing to do it or listen to reason or this thread as his only defence is 1 note from the collectors guild saying its good but i feel peter made a mistake on this one and the seller is conitnualy refusing my requests for a refund, looks like i may have to open a paypal fraudulent item dispute

An honest seller will likely always issue a refund after such a short period of time. His actions say it all. There is a lesson in all of this. Never part with funds for an item you do not have knowledge of until you do proper research.
