Interesting sword tang on WWII shingunto

A friend of mine picked this up at an estate sale for cheap, brought it to show where I took it down and took photos of tang. Several holes in tang one at the very bottom was clipped off and rounded by the smith. All holes appear to be power drill not awl type. Strange wide spacing on characters on tang and if remounted so many times why would there be a complete signature still high on the tang? Translation assistance please I see a "Masa" but we are remodelling and all my reference books are boxed!
I apologize for orientation of photos but they were done at show and not well planned.

      Hi Steve,

I'll flip them for you and take a look. Spacing certainly is wider than I'm used to seeing. Interesting.

      Regards,
      Stu

That's a weird one! Possibly on civilian mounts with a long nakago at first or an Attempt to make the blade look older so it could sell more (gimei?)?

There's a gunto smith by that name:

            柳川 右正心
            Yanagigawa Yushoshin.

Chris Bowen IDs him as "[url=http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/12269-sukemasa-masayuki/Migi Shoshin[/url]"

I can't cut the photo from "Google Images" -- but the same spacing is used:
              右......正.......心

A couple of shots of the blade from todays show as requested. Has nice blade but the hamon almost drifts off the blade near boshi, interesting blade overall,
