Rising Sun Flag

I don't know anything about IJN flags so I am posting this one to get opinions. It is approx 146cmX170cm and as you can see, it is printed. It has no markings, is made of cotton and although it appears clean in the bright sun, it is very yellowed and showing age. Also it is made out of pieced cloth as can be seen by the seam running through the flag. I know it's not a ship flag but perhaps a late war patriotic banner or for land base use (wall hanger)? My understanding is that that style of flag was still in use long after the war ended so it's very difficult to date it precisely.
