No offence meant but I'm guessing that you are not familiar with Japanese helmets. If that is the case how do you know the liner is correct etc.? I recommend you provide photos sufficient for us to confirm originality for you before we provide a value estimate. We'd not want to suggest a value then find we had lead you astray based upon an assessment of a single photo.

    Regards,
    Stu

The chinstrap does look like one that would be on a Police or Municipal worker type helmet. It is hard to know for sure without looking at the liner. I'll check back when more pics are up.

I agree 100% with Stu 's assesment. Could not have said it better. I also agree, from the picture provided, the chinstrap material is not what I would expect to see.

Chinstrap looks to wide. The little strap from the back of the helmet looks original and thats how the chinstrap material schould look and feel like.

The kanji identify the helmet as part Xn of Yn.

                  ノ300 50

                  se: 300
                  ho: 50

note: The Japanese particle ノ ["no"] shows possession; in this example, "of se" or "se's." Modern Japanese uses the hiragana の instead of the katakana ノ.

IF the iroha system of classification is being used; then, represents #46 and can be either "E" or 5.

Maybe something like this following CONJECTURE:

                  Section 46 #300 [ノ300]
                  E #50 [50]

I'm just thinking out loud .... [perhaps TOO loud].

                    good liner

The liner is late war navy common to this type of helmet. The liner is right. As mentioned before, the straps are probably not original issue. It's possible they might be a period replacement. No way to tell or sure. The back chinstrap "Loop" is original. The rest of the chinstraps should have this thin look to it.

The paint and anchor look right.

I agree with Jim. All looks good except chinstrap. As mentioned maybe, just maybe a period replacement but no way to be certain

Prices seem to be all over the place right now. In my opinion I would say around $500 give or take due to condition and lack of original strap. Again just my opinion.
