    Nobori celebrating Singapore capture.

    Hello everyone.

After looking at the thread with the fake captured english flag with the ention about Singapore I would like to share this nobori with you. Excellent quality, complete, looking quite old but finally have my doubt about being wartime item.

Does any of you know if this kind of banner could have been made for a vet's meating or patriotic event after the war?

Thanks for looking, have a nice sunday!

Interesting banner! I couldn’t tell you whether post war or not. The unit is for the 5th Regiment, 8th Company of the Imperial Guard.

Hi Tom, thanks for your input!
Yes indeed, this unit did participated to the battle. Material look the same than my other banners. I love it because it's an unusual nobori anyway.

About the date of construction, without a good showa stamp I am effraid we will never know. IMHO I don't think it was made between 1945 and 1952 under US administration it would have been weird to let citizen of Japan commemorate such event in front of the occupation forces.
