    Interesting Helmet Inkwell

Here are a couple of photos of an interesting Japanese inkwell that is in the shape of a Japanese Model 90 (i.e., 1930) Army helmet.

Note: Five pointed raised star insignia, chin strap "loop" rivets, and liner retaining clips.

The inkwell is made of brass, is 5 1/4 inches (13.5 cm) in diameter, and roughly 3 inches (8 cm) in height. The inkwell is equipped with two glass ink containers, one that originally contained black ink and one that originally contained red ink.
