    Another Late War Stenciled Anchor

Here are some photos of another Late War Stenciled helmet for review. It is also a grim reminder of the tragedy of war as the the paint bears evidence of DNA. I know that spare parts were provided to the Army for repairs Was this also the case with the Navy? I wonder if in at least some instances the liners were added after unpacking not just installed at the factory. This might explain the fact that some stenciled anchor Navy helmets I have seen have no yellow paint on the front rivet and the Navy I have with very little usage has what appears to be its original liner and no paint on the front rivet either. Any thoughts?

    Thanks, Geoff

Nice looking helmet, however I'd be more inclined to believe that the "DNA" is simply rust bleed through...Comes with use, and age. I have one with very similar rust spotting on the paint.

A very nice helmet. I really like these. Love the liner and the stenciled anchor. That's rust, not blood, I think. Interesting how these were stenciled sometimes with the liner out. I have a similar one, with the anchor outlined in white.
