    Japanese winter hat.

    Good day to all;
    Here are some pics. of a so called Japanese officers winter hat with bullion insg.I was told it belonged to a Japanese general....I don't know if that is true or not.The hat has tie strings as well as that other padding you can see at the right side of the hat in the pic.They have been cut it looks like.So what do you think is it a good hat or fake?

          The writing on the inside of the hat has a number 3 in a circle right under the writing ...you can't see it in the pics.

            Fairly certain star was added post war. Should have yellow felt/ wool star and should ALWAYS be machine sewn on cap. It is a very common enlisted winter cap that appears unissued with no hand written name on interior ink stamp.

                Hi Dennis,

                Not necessarily as bad as you think. It's possible there was never a felt star on the front, I have such an example that is 100% original. If you own this cap just remove the badge. Without evidence a story like that is always nonsense and not worth a plug nickel.

                Regards' Rod
