    ID card translation

    Hello all,
I found this ID card sized object at an estate sale and wanted to learn more about it.

I do know that 'pozorrubio' is a somewhat wealthy town about 110 miles north of Manila. The very top of the card [which is cut off in picture] has a number on it. I was wondering if anyone could translate the writing on the card.

    thank you in advance,

    Alejandro

The Japanese katakana on the right hand side of the pic. repeats what is written in English at the bottom: Pozorrubio town, Pangasinan Province. It looks like there might be a name and number on the left hand side. The number is 17 - lower left hand corner. These are usually ID badges that were used during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines. Is there any kind of safety pin or other kind of attachment on the reverse?

      Right side of the badge:

      タルセラ
      オラルテ -- 十七才

      Tarusera
      Orarute -- 17 years old

      --Guy

      (still on jet-lag)

        wow...thank you both so much...
on the obverse there is nothing to indicate it was attached to a pin or something... I just assumed [maybe incorrectly so] that it was just placed in a wallet and not pinned to someone.

once again...thank you both... it is much appreciated.
