Tang translation help please...

Hey guys, I've been shaking the bushes so to speak looking for swords. I'm fairly new to this area of collecting and so is the seller. He inherited some items and this blade is one.

Could someone translate this? I posted both ways because I don't know which way is correct. Please forgive me

Thanks for the reply. The guy has this one, unmarked Kia gunto , dirk , and some other type of sword. I got in touch with him regarding the navy.

There is a smith's name 服部正广 (Hattori Masahiro) in the tang.
