    Stacked Late War Patchwork T-90

Here are a few pics of a late war Type 90 with evidence of storage. You can see where it was stacked with other helmets. Where the pads were resting against the shell (the kind of pinkish areas) are where the skin of liner pads adhered to the paint and peeled off when the helmets were separated. There is the usual touch-up stripe and the liner is the late war patchwork type made up of smaller pieces of leather sewn together. The front liner pad is stamped but The date is too faded to read.Does anyone know what year the patchwork liners came into use? All comments welcome. Thanks, Geoff

I have seen these referred to as 1944 pattern liners. I have a 43 dated helmet with this style liner.
