    WW2 Army Sword blade Folded? Big signature neat temper line

    I was offered this sword this week. Its got a neat temper , the blade is in bad shape but i figured id better post to see if i should even mess with it. Thank you for help i can get and fir your time.

              Rust looks new and on the surface
              You can carefully take it off with horn or ivory I use old piano keys
              Hard rust can be taken off with an old penny not a copper clad one
              Looks to be a nice Shinto sword

                  Thank you very much for the help on the blade, he has the scabbard and handle etc hes asking 1300 for the sword , also another that came with thats a machine blade. Do you think i should jump on it, the tip is a bit screwed up.

                    Impossible to say from photos
                    If the tip is messed up and the boshi gone the blade is valueless
                    Can you post photos of the tip?

                      Edit re "東都" This might be shorthand for Tōkyō [Tōkyō-to / Tokyo Metropolis] 東京都. I've Googled it, but most hits are for Kingdom of Formosa.

                        A special order blade which is likely a true Nihonto. An interesting signature for a Showa era blade.

                            In case anybody misses the edit ... I left out "tamé" [Benefit] that whole line should read:
