    Not a stupid question???

When I was a kid, I always heard, "There are no stupid questions!"

    So, here is my question.
Are the Chinese or Pakistanis, or anyone for that matter, making reproduction NCO Samurai swords, that are so good to the point as to fool a person?
I picked up a NCO sword and the scabbard is in very good shape. The numbers match from the sword to scabbard. If the answer is yes or no, I'll take some pics and see what you think.
    Thanx,
    Tim

OK. Well, if this is a repro/copy, it sure is good!
      What do you think?
Anyone else that wants to chime in is free to do so.
I got this from Brooklyn, NY.

The scabbard/saya is in terrific shape. The gun metal blue color is really good throughout, with no real sign of pitting.

                          Hello Tim,

Without a doubt a reproduction in my view.

I agree that there are no stupid questions when asked as part of serious analysis or as part of a learning curve.

Some repros are very very good and able to fool some of the people some of the time. I have yet to see one that can fool all the people all of the time.

By the way. There is no such thing as a WW2 period Samurai sword. The Samurai period ended in the late 1800s.

                          Regards,
                          Stu

Definite repro copy, and not the best out there.
