    Translation help- Officer Tunic

    Greetings everyone.

Picked up this officers uniform. Insignia are added post war. Inside the tunic is a name tag. Inside the pocket was a piece of cardboard white paper with kanji written on it. I do not think the paper is period but am curious as to what it reads. Any help with these translations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
    Regards,Michael

    Captain Takai

    Paper:

    名誉戦死高井大尉 パラオ島
    Meiyo senshi Takai tai-i Parao-jima
    Honored-KIA Captain Takai Palau Island

Thank you very much Guy San.
      That is very interesting.
Does the writing seem to be period done on the inside name tag?

I can't tell. It does appear to look rather new or in very good condition. Even my own uniform tags got worn down and the ink faded with daily wear. Not certain about this sewn-in tag.
