Help with name in helmet

I've had this salty helmet for years and was wondering if anyone can help with translating the characters? There is something on the rim of the shell, and embroidered into one of the liner pads. I assume this is the soldiers name? Does anyone know what it would be?

Photo is upside down. Ueda is the famliy name. Interesting that it is written in a post war style (left to right)
