I acquired several items from a WWII vets estate which inlcuded many yards of Japanese military dark olive green material that looks like gaberdene. I also got several yards of silk material. His wife said he sent the fabric home in 1945.One is a very light silk and the other silk is more softly pleated looking. I think the pleated silk is parachute material. I have tried to take pictures of the dark olive green material but my expensive Nikon will not caputure the true color. I have put a black light on the material and it appers to be WWII. I have included pictures of the silk and dark olive green material. Has anyone ever seen or heard of these fabrics or know what they were used for? Any info would be appreciated.
