Type 90 Helmet for Review

Just found this helmet. Inside pad has a stamp with a 14 on it. I looked that up as a 1939 date but am not sure? Liner and chin ties all there and uncut. About 90% paint. Size large. It does have a hailr line crack at the top crown but it does not detract from appearance. Can anyone tell me what the symbols in yellow say in english? Also, what is a general value of a helmet like this?

Hi Dave-san,

Very nice example !

Like to see the complete liner cushions (Zabutons) present.

You might able to find a maker mark on the inner rim if you look carefully.

The yellow characters are name of the former owner.

松本 - Matsumoto (A very common family name).

Any idea what symbols are to the left and right of the name? All I can see on the rim is a metal stamp that looks just like the white size symbol.

Those are probably his unit symbol, number. Need a close up photo.

Can't help you much on the price range, sorry.

Hi Dave-san,

The yellow painted (name) was applied on top of the white paint, however I can't make out the circle and the last white character.

The liner is very nice, like the sharp stamping.

1939 dated, and maker 中冢 - Nakatsuka
