    Hinomaru no Yosegaki on Estand

I'd appreciate member's thoughts on this flag.

I'm viewing it on an iPad so there is a good chance my concern is unfounded but I'd like to be sure. The kanji appear somewhat sloppy and the stroke ends are solid. I'm concerned that it may be a Magic Marker type.

    Regards,
    Stu

I wouldn't want it in my collection, unless my collection had an area for fakes / seabee flags / and post war embellishments. Its done in the style of the famous "Tojo Flags", which are period fake flags, made for the unsuspecting buyer. This does not look like the typical "Tojo Flag", but close enough to be grouped as one. Certainly all writing is done by the same hand, with multiple stamps from the same stamp. The stamp is mimicking a shrine stamp, but probably says something like "eat at the Fuji cafe".

Most of Kanji are wrong, and a bizarre engraving of the stamp is not even a character. That is just garbage.

It's not even close to "Tojo Flag" at all.

Probably the worst example I've seen so far.

          Scary!

          Regards,
          Taka

It's a total fake, but I'm impressed by how this guy is writing total gibberish, yet makes it look like Kanji.

I didn't know anything about this flag and didn't know it was bad, I guess I took the word of a dealer to heart and should not have. I would never want to sell a fake item to a fellow collector as I think people like that shouldn't be in our great hobby. I apologize I should know more about the items I buy. Thank you all for your information.
