              Hi,

I'm highly suspicious about this piece, no good feelings at all.

A post war written piece ! (Probably written by Chinese)

              - Writing looks new, and very rough looking.

              - 艦隊機動隊 X ---> 機動部隊 O (Kidou Bu-tai) "mechanical force" refers to Carrier Force. (But no carriers were written)

              - should be

              - was not written with , also it should be written as .

              Just from my perspective.

              Regards,
              Taka

              Hi Guy-san,

Some sort of post war period of occupation flag used by a shore patrol type unit?

                Regards,
                Stu

Japanese fleet is not called "Pacific Fleet" in Japan. It seems so strange to me.

                  Regards,

I did a simple research with the names of the ships.

The background would be "Battle of Leyte Gulf".

Suzuya, Kumano, Chikuma, and Nowaki were sunk.

                    Regards,
                    Taka

                      Hello Taka-san,

Perhaps some sort of commemorative usage then?

                      Regards,
                      Stu

                        Flag

Thank you guy's for all the input and help. This was offered to a friend of mine who collects Japanese items primarily. The concern of his was actually if it was created or original to the period, as well as what it represented. Much appreciated.

Part of the mystery solved !

                              Photo No. 3 indicates a British Broad-Arrow. With 77.

                              So W "Arrow" D !

British military issued cloth, probably navy?

                              How could I missed that!

                              Regards,
