Sorry, I've spent about an hour on it and I'm stumped! I've checked ALL kanji that have a "sun" radical: 日
I know this is seal script and sometimes elements are reversed for balance or poetical license .... but I cannot find anything similar. Looks like your stamp's kanji has the following elements:
日 - left bottom
師 - [the right half of this kanji], on the right side of your stamp
Sorry!

I suspected it was upside down...not my photos, but could have reversed it 180....the story is: this is a stamp brought home from iwo...and captured a long time long ago...by a jarhead.....so was there a general or clerk by that name?(on iwo) That's a good question as to if there are any rosters of japanese soldiers that served on any particular place ...I suppose only the Japanese govt. would know that info. Thanks to all for your help , it takes time to research , I know, and appreciate the effort ...I do the same for others when I can....sometimes I give up after days of searching in my spare time .
