I do not believe that is a period authentic IJA Type 95 NCO sword.

Definite fake. One of the biggest identifiers is that the blood grove goes under the habaki. on the real NCOs the blood groove is about a half inch or inch from the habaki going to almost the tip of the blade. that's the 1st thing I always lok for. also, if you've held a real one versus fake one, the real ones are very well made whereas the fake ones are loose, smell funny, and poorly made among other characteristics that don't match up.
