    Japanese Flag

I know nothing about this flag. Is it original Japanese WW 2 and not made up by G.I's for sale to other G.I's or made up post war? If original, any ideal what is written on it? If better photographs are needed please let me know. Thank you for your time and input. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

Authentic. Photo #1 is facing the correct way and is right-side up.

The flag congratulates Mr. Itou Azuma for enlisting [literally: entering barracks]:

    祝入営 伊藤東君

    Shuuku Nyuei Itou Azuma-kun

A fine WW2 period Hinomaru no Yosegaki (commonly called Good Luck Flag) that any of us would appreciate having in our own collection.

      Regards,
      Stu

The photos are much too low in quality to read off any clues. Here is at least one clue

            A very nice Yosegaki flag.

I just got myself a IJN Kamikaze pilot scarf Yosegaki. (Private purchased scarf)

            Will post it soon.

            Regards,
            Taka

Thank you for all your input. I added some close ups if anyone feels like attempting to further translate the writing. Cannot help you further when you disregard my advice where one needs to look for the critical info. All additional photos are off target and contain nothing of value.

Thanks again for all the information given. Sorry Nick Komiya that I did not understand what you meant. I thought you wanted close ups. No worries, I know more about now than I did last week.

                        Hollis,

Nick suggested you get a high resolution image of this area only:

You did a partial -- about 50% -- but not the entire "footprint."
