Ok everyday on ebay

There are 50 Japanese swords for sale each one makes between $500 to $1500 or so on average . So who's buying them all ? are there collections where guys have 10000 Japanese swords .Or are there 1000000 people who want a Japanese sword ?

And another thing if there are so many why are they so expensive ??? obviously you have your top sword makers fair enough but you average maker ?

I suppose it is probably a little of both. There are probably affluent collectors who prefer quantity over quality and buy up what they can. It might be other factors as well - dealers in countries where Japanese swords are not as common buying examples up, good or otherwise, and flipping them. I remember hearing of a story of a Russian dealer going through a US gun show, buying up all of the Japanese swords regardless of condition, and walking out with an arm load of them.

I see the same swords coming up for resale periodically too so that would account for some of the numbers.
