Yes! I saw a program on NHK TV last year -- there's a dedicated person who goes through and tries to find suicides before they are successful. Often he finds the remains.

Over 100 people successfully commit suicide here; it is the second most popular suicide spot in the world after the Golden Gate Bridge.
