    Hello Stefan,

I'm not really certain, but the ribbons look similar to:

    1. Auspicious Cloud (Manchukuo) 1934-1945
    2. Order of the Rising Sun (lower grade)
    3. Golden Kite (lower grade)
    4. First Sino-Japanese War Medal (1894-5)
    5. Russo-Japanese War (1904-05)
    6. Taisho Enthronement Medal (1915)

Images below from Rich Catalano's site

    1. Auspicious Cloud

    2. Order of the Rising Sun

    3. Golden Kite

    4. First Sino-Japanese War Medal (1894-5)

    5. Russo-Japanese War

    6. Taisho Enthronement Medal

Really crude construction. Don't like how ribbon overlaps next cutting off ribbon stripe etc

        Post war put together.

The owner should have been in the military for prox. 40 years

I don't think it is post-war. The 1st ribbon is a Sacred Treasure ribbon, not Auspicious Clouds. When the 1st three are place in this order, the furthest left would have been the higher ranking of the three. (For example, a 5th Class St, 6th Class RS, and 7th GK.) The faded pink of the ST ribbon probably threw you off, Guy.

So the known range of the medals is 1894-1915, easily accomplished.

The ribbons are in the proper order. The overlapping I have seen before. Just conjecture, but I imagine that he didn't have a long enough metal bar and just made due.

You can see a lot of variation on ribbon bars, and many are outlandish and obviously made-up. This one isn't one of those, IMO.

The purchase price is reasonable, too.

              Thanks Rich!

I hope I get the bar delivered soon - then i can make better pictures. It´s hard to see but the first ribbon was indeed the "Order of the Sacred Treasure".

I saw the overlapping ribbons on this website to:

You must scroll down a little.

Now how the HECK did I miss that? It's so obvious -- but in my defense, I saw one with a dark blue ribbon. Yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

From Rich's site Order of the Sacred Treasure, 7th and 8th Classes:

I like it.... and for the price.... awesome!

It actually looks as though he shifted the ribbons to make room for one more rather than having it re-mounted.

This ribbon bar looks like original one.

Sacred treasure ribbon is not faded - this is so called "pink" variation of ribbon that can be found on pieces that came from 1890s-1910s period of time.

Rising sun and golden kite ribbons also completely correspond with this time period.

                      Cheers,
                      Nick
