Japanese Translation Help Needed

I recently purchased an Imperial Japanese pocket watch chain which had a couple of what appear to be naval medallions. Any help with translation would be very much appreciated. THANKS!!!!

The round one is written is ancient seal script. It is a 1904 commemorative of the 25th anniversary of the Asahi Newspaper's first issue.

Reread my post again -- I updated it. The round one is dated 1904 and is a 25th anniversary commemoration of the Asahi Newspaper's first edition.
