I think 4-nen shiki [Model 4-year] is 1944.

Neat! I love these things! I can just imagine the occupation troops walking into a warehouse full of these boxes and taking one off the pile to ship back home. I am curious, is there any kind of data plate or markings on the gyroscope itself? Any extra pieces come in the box?
