Opinions on IJA Helmet with Red Star please . . .

Is this an IJA helmet or some other branch? Did the IJA use red stars?

I have seen Vietnam captured Japanese helmets with the star painted red. I have never seen or heard of the Japanese doing this. No way to know for sure.

That green shade of repaint looks Chinese or Vietnamese especially with red star

The names on the inner rim are Japanese.

The inside indeed looks untouched WW2. The outside has been altered post WW2 for sure. As to when and where it is impossible to know. The one thing I can tell you for sure is that if you are wanting an untouched WW2 helmet this one is not for you.
