Japanese Sake Cup with Box - are they real?

I would sincerely appreciate any opinions as to the authenticity of this sake cup and the cardboard box that came with it. Thanks.

It looks good to me. I have a few, but am no expert. Others will be able to help with the translation.

I found the other and it follows "Win/Victory"

              の緒をしめよ

I didn't know which way to read it until I found a similar cup with the same text:

              岐166の盃 青地、『支那事変記念』・『勝って(カブト)の緒をしめよ』文字、桜花・鉄帽・刀、口縁に鉄釉 高台内に個人名とクロム印

              source

              The entire maxim is:

              勝って[helmet/兜]の緒をしめよ
Katte kabuto no O wo shime-yo!
Tie the cord of your helmet after victory

"Tie/tighten your helmet cords" is a popular expression still used; similar to "don't let your guard down" -- but more so: it implies that even after victory don't be lax, be prepared for a counterattack.
