Hello forum. Here's a strange item that came in from the estate of a WWII who spent some time in the occupation forces in immediate post-war Japan. It's probably a long-shot, however I'm a bit intrigued by the trademark of an Imperial army helmet on this pencil set. Is this mere coincidence or would this set have some sort of military usage? There are three quite LARGE colored pencils in this set, with what seems an extravagant amount of Kanji on the box, and the pencils themselves. Theyy're in un-used condition. Anybody have any ideas? That is a promotional give-away item from a Linen Mill, who just happened to use a helmet as their trade mark. Nothing military, but it is a war-time item, as it shows their pre-1944 company name. They are now known as TOSCO.Comment
