Wartime Japanese Army Postcard

I believe this is a rather common type of WW2 Japanese postcard. Any translation help appreciated.

This was a meticulous guy. First time I saw such a printed thank you card, expressing his gratitude to those who gathered to send him off to war. He was deeply moved by the cheers among the waving rising sun flags. He reports he has reached his unit's destination abroad, and apologizes for his tardiness in writing, due to his many duties.
