Just got this in. My question, is there a manual that shows how to break these down. I would like to clean it as there is quite a bit of built up oil. Also, I have the metal core from when it was deactivated. Anyone have some good ideas on how to reattach it for display?

Looks like Nagoya Shimazu - dated 1940 but the arsenal stamp is hard to see in the picture. Sorry I can't advise on taking it apart. For the hole and display, you might try a magnate so its not permanent. Update the thread after you clean it up I would be curious to see.

Just display it in a manner that doesn't show the hole.....Any reattachment of the piece could be construed as an attempt to reactivate it....BodesComment
