Need opinion on IJN helmet anchor badge

    Scott, are you sure that one badge is solid copper? I have seen original brass badges with a copper plate base coat. They then had nickel plate over the top. The copper under coat gives the top nickel coat more durability. At some point I guess they simply cut the copper plate base coat step out?

          You are correct. I guess i had a Freudian slip while looking at gunboards simultaneously. Does my post get an A-? Moms gonna be pissed lol.

            The seller did not respond to my request for a refund, so I have taken the case up with Ebay. I am not out a lot of money, but sellers who knowingly sell fakes as originals cannot be allowed to get away with it. Thanks again, folks, for the help!
