I have an appraisal paper for a Japanese Sword that was appraised in 1952. It has several rows of Japanese characters with a red seal stamp. There also is on it a pencil rubbing of the tang but I see no characters visible in the rubbing. I don't know what the appraisal amount was but the sword was 350 years old in 1952 and was made by Kongobei Moritaka. Chikuzen Province, Keicmiyo era. The GI that owned the sword was stationed in Japan and had the sword appraised at that time. The whereabouts of the sword is unknown. That information is written on the back of the frame. Does the appraisal have any value to a collector without the sword? Thanks.
