Japanese Helmet Some Questions.

Hi,
just acquired this helmet, condition is not good a lot of paint loss and liner is a little dry. It looked better in the for sale photographs than in hand. My main query is the insignia, I know not all Japanese Helmets have the Star this one does not where it would be is a plain rivet. I thought it was missing in the photographs and there would be a hole where it would go but was wrong. There is some yellow paint around the front rivet is this original to the helmet and if so what would have been there? The paint is so worn I cannot make out what it was if anything. Also there is some Kanji on the rim , Kanji is the correct term? can anyone make out what it said I assumed it is just a name. I was going to keep this helmet if it is worth keeping. Any advice information will be appreciated.

Its a late war Imperial Japanese Naval (IJN) helmet. THe yellow paint is original, and was painted in the form of an anchor. All looks good with the helmet. Its a bit salty, but looks good! Can you shoe a picture of the long ends of the chinstraps. We are currently discussing another helmet like yours.

Impossible with paint under rust. The paint is outside.
