Japanese swords shipped back in cointainer!

When I started collecting back in early 70's you had a better chance
of getting stuff that was shipped home by vet.

GI shipped home stuff in crates and anything else they could find!

    Always like seeing that!

Not easy to find that way anymore! Lets see your shipbacks!

Rifles and swords helmets or anything else from the Pacific!

          ship backs!

I know helmets were shipped home with just stamps and address
          on it!

Would love to see your items!

Way back when I was way young under 12 or less and no money ,I was part of that generation when fathers and relatives were in the war! I will be 60 this Oct!

My neighbor was in Pacific and got silver Star etc and in garage in kids wagon was war stuff!

We played war and dressed up in US web ammo belt, canteen and stuff
and 2 Japanese bush hats and 1 Japanese ammo belt!

Seemed normal as we ran around the houses with toy guns!!

Also very young when a school kid carried over to my house 2 Japanese officer swords!

He told me his dad was 1 of MacArthurs 2 pilots! And at end of war he was told he could pick any 2 items in a huge room of tables with stuff on it!

          He took these 2 swords!

I saw pics on family wall and sure wish I knew what ever happened
          to them!

But I was so young but I remember that day! Well thats my little story
of the old days on Japanes stuff!

Jeez those GIs sure love stealing stuff.

I guess it's for the better because back home it would have been melted or cut. Kind of sad, really.
