Need help with a IJN soft cap

Hello everyone,
As I don't know these IJN caps very well, can anyone tell if this one is original? The last pic shows a very faded ink stamp, looks unreadable to me.Thanks for any and all input.

Unquestionably real and fairly common. These caps are some of the most common naval caps in the hobby. These are reproduced, the cap in the picture is real. Prices vary, used $150 to $175. Mint condition $175 to $200. feel confident about that one.

Hi Paul,

Your cap is original, and probably made in Shanghai. Most Type 3 Navy Field caps were manufactured in Shanghai Naval Uniform Factory (上海海軍衣糧廠).

I myself own a mint Type 3 Petty officer (Shanghai), and a fair Type 3 Officer (with a white diamond white tag).

Your example has been washed and faded, but it is still original.
