Flag, headband and bottle group for review.

    Dear forum members!

The Japanese items are not on my collecting filed but I was offered this group as WW2 bring back. The group contains a box with flag, flag top, bottle and headband. I appreciate any comments on this group.

    1. Are these WWII related items?
    2. What was purpose of the flag and headband (I mean are they military related or just patriotic stuff?)
    3. Any thoughts what text on the box says?

    Thanks for looking!

    Best regards,
    Alexander

The box lists holidays when you are supposed to put the flag up. Not a military item, just about every house would have had a flag. I would say it's wartime or earlier.

The headband says "Kamikaze", but don't get too excited. IF it is wartime, lots of people wore headbands with slogans to show their dedication. The same style is still made and can be bought in gift shops today. If yours is original (I can't tell from this photo) it's still something collectors will want, but you're not going to get the price of an actual documented Kamikaze item.

The bottle and cup don't seem to be military, not that I can read any of it. But military ones will usually have some military motif on them somewhere.

The box front shows the first two stanzas of the Japanese national anthem (still used today) Kimigayoh

        君が代は
        千代に八千代に

        さざれ石の
        いわおとなりて
        こけの生すまで
        きみがよは
        ちよにやちよに
        さざれいしの
        いわおとなりて
        こけのむすまで

        Kimigayo wa
        Chiyo ni yachiyo ni

        Sazare-ishi no
        Iwao to narite
        Koke no musu made

        May your reign
Continue for a thousand, eight thousand generations,

        Until the pebbles
        Grow into boulders
        Lush with moss

          Thank you for posting Guy-san.

I think this particular example is either pre war ~ immediate post war manufactured because of the description paper on photo 3 is printed in old style Japanese writings.

          Best regards,
          Taka
