    Japanese data plates??

I picked these data plates at a local garage sale where the father was a WWII USMC veteran who served in the Pacific theatre. Can anyone tell me what these data plates were on at one time or the translation of these plates?

    They measure 2 1/8" x 1 1/2" (55mm x 40mm) and the other 2 5/8" x 3/4" (61mm x 21mm).

    Thanks!
