What type of shirt is this? EM? Officer? Civvie?
As far as I know Taisho 2 type EM summer shirts were pullover, round hem and henry collared, single buttoned breast pocketwith the stamps on the hems, and the Type 98 summer service was approximately the same shape except that it was not a pullover, had double buttoned pockets and had square hems.
This one has a flapless, plain single breast pocket, is not a pullover, and is stamped behind the neck instead of around the hems. The stamp is illegible but seems to have a number and possibly 昭 for Showa on it.
Has anybody seen anything like this before? If so what type would it be?
Here is a repro of the Taisho 2 type, the cuffs, buttons, and overall construction seems to be similar except for the differences noted.
