These caps are very common but your specimen is very nice. I think Japanese officer caps are very attractive. It appears every part/component of your cap looks right and orignal. I have seen these will several different liner styles and lining fabric colors. I have two, one has this exact wine colored lining and the other has a black silk lining. Nice.

I use to have a Japanese officers cap with purple piping around the middle band. It was for engineers and from what I could gather that style of officer cap with colored piping was used only briefly in the 1930's. Someone correct me if I am wrong about this. That cap went to Jareth last year.
