    Japanese Wrist Compass

    Hi,

I would like to share this interesting Japanese wrist compass.

It is in fantastic condition, especially the leather strap.

The lens was made with glass, and it can be turned.

Direction were wrote in Japanese Kanji :

    (From Clockwise)

    東 (Higashi) - East
    南 (Minami) - South
    西 (Nishi) - West
    北 (Kita) - North

    Also with luminescent intact.

On the right side there is a stopper switch that you can stop the needle from turning.

Very Nice! I used a similar wrist compass (OD green & plastic)
when I was in the Army:

Turned out that my wrist compass was a late war IJA Paratrooper issued !

There were 3-4 different types as well

九二式夜行羅針 (Kyuu Ni-shiki Yakou Rashin) - Type 92 Night Wrist Compass (Straps missing on follwing example)

九三式夜光羅針 (Kyuu San-shiki Yakou Rashin) - Type 93 Night Wrist Compass

        Version A

Version B (Same type as mine)

        Type C

        Type D
